My Corkboard Schoolteacher Quilt

I'm naming this quilt my "Corkboard Schoolteacher Quilt" for one simple reason.  Several years ago I went to a yard sale and bought this huge box of fabric.  It was well over 20 yds.  The lady who was putting on the yard sale told me she was a school teacher and she used this fabric as a backing on her corkboard in her class room.   Every time a new event would happen or a season change or holiday would come along she would rush off to the fabric store and buy a new background.  She was now selling the fabric because she was retiring from teaching to spend more time with her family and children.

I just wanted to give you a little background of the fabric and why I named the quilt what I did.  She was such a sweet lady.

Anyways..... I started this quilt (which I really should call it a throw for the living room sofa.) on December 26 and just finished it yesterday morning before work.

This is just a little pictorial from start to finish!

It was all sewn and created under the watchful eye of our little "Loki".

Disappearing Four Patch Quilt

It's moving along slowly, but I did finish off 3 more panels.

I've been browsing the blogosphere and love looking at some of the creations people come up with for quilts.  So many very talented individuals, young and old.  It always makes me feel good to be associated even in a very small way and constantly learning from such a wonderful group (Including all of the garment makers who have taught me so much).
